New Music Commissioners' Survey

Who commissions new music and why? How is the economic climate affecting commissions? Are commissioners valued as much as they should be?

BASCA's survey for commissioners of new music is now closed. We would like to thank everyone who completed the survey. If you would like to contribute information but missed the deadline, please contact Natalie Bleicher on natalie@basca.org.uk.

We will update this page with findings from the survey as we embark on the long process of analysing the results.

The new music commissioners survey will just form one part of our research into commissioning. We will also be finding out information from composers, funders and other interested parties in order to construct as complete a picture as possible. It will be the first piece of research into new music commissioning for twenty years.
