Paul Gambaccini hosted an Ivor Novello Awards Special live from the Watford Town Hall on Friday 11th May.
Special guests included 5 time Ivor-Winner Mike Batt and The Ivors Committee Chairman Gary Osborne, who discussed The Ivors history. The 60 piece BBC Concert Orchestra, conducted by Richard Balcombe and featuring singers Matt Rawle and Alison Jiear, performed an eclectic mix of Ivor Novello Award-related selections by the likes of John Barry, Don Black, Eric Maschwitz, Tim Rice, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Elton John, Bernie Taupin, Richard Rodney Bennett, Gilbert O'Sullivan, Les Reed, Barry Mason, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Tony Newley, Leslie Bricusse, Geoff Stephens, Eric Coates, Pete Townshend and Ivor Novello himself.
