Commission Fees Survey
10 December 2012
BASCA is delighted to announce that we are once again undertaking our commission fees survey for the classical and jazz communities.
First launched in 2010, the survey aimed to provide composers, publishers and commissioners of new music with a practical point of reference for setting their own fees for commissions. Click here for full information as to why BASCA was forced to take this step.
The response to the first survey was very encouraging with more than 500 individual responses providing data for the years 2005 to 2009.
It is now time to refresh the survey, which we will continue to do every two years, and we are asking composers, publishers and commissioners to provide commission fee information for the years 2010 to 2011.
The survey will remain open for 90 days and covers an extensive range of categories – from Symphony Orchestra, through Unaccompanied Choral, to Jazz Big Band.

Please do try to support us in this endeavour – the more data we can collect, the more effective the analysis, and the more useful this will be in pitching the price for a commission.
