Final line-up announced for next BASCA seminar

14 September 2012

BASCA is delighted to confirm additional guest speakers for the fourth event in our professional business development programme for 2012, aimed at supporting Songwriters and Composers. The session takes place on the evening of Tuesday September 25th from 6.30pm until 9.30pm in the PRS for Music Boardroom, 6th Floor, Copyright House, 29-33 Berners Street, London W1.

Brian Higgins is the founder member of hugely-successful, influential songwriting and production team Xenomania, whose work with artists such as Girls Aloud, The Saturdays, Kylie Minogue, PetShop Boys and Sugarbabes has earned references to “a 21st century Motown”. Composer, arranger, record producer, musical director and musician Ian Tilley also works with well-established writing & production teams and major labels plus both mainstream and platinum-selling classical-crossover artists including Hayley Westenra, Libera and All Angels.

We are delighted to announce that joining Brian and Ian for the first half of the evening is Mel Redmond, Creative Director at Perfect Songs - one of the UK’s longest-running independent music publishing companies, well known for discovering and nurturing new talent and with an impressive catalogue containing some of the most memorable songs of the past 30 years.

Martin PhippsMedia composer Martin Phipps’ scores for an equally impressive list of both feature films and television productions have already resulted in three Ivor Novello awards and two consecutive BAFTA awards. Joining Martin for the second half of the evening we are equally delighted to confirm the addition to our panel of Hannah King, the Global Creative Manager of EMI Production Music who as well as discovering and sourcing talented composers and musicians for in-house labels, partner strategically with other labels in specialist areas such as trailer and promo music, work with some of the most distinguished and influential composers in the UK and worldwide, and blur the lines between commercial and production music.
