39th Gold Badge Awards

BASCA in association with PRS for Music presented the 39th Annual Gold Badge Awards on Wednesday 17th October at The Savoy, London.

The Gold Badge Awards celebrate the achievements of an outstanding group of men and women who have made a special contribution in support of songwriters and composers.  Over the last 38 years the awards have paid tribute to a wide range of music industry professionals, including broadcasters, recording artists, publishers, arrangers, managers, producers and record company executives.



BASCA awarded the Gold Badge of Merit to (in alphabetical order):

•    Sir George Martin
•    Nick Mason (award sponsored by PPL)

•    Mandy Oates
•    Nigel Ogden

•    John Williams (award sponsored by the Musicians' Union)

Accepting his award Sir George Martin said “BASCA – what a miraculous organisation. Without the work you do and the output of the songwriters and composers who are your members I wouldn’t have had the material with which to work.”

Guy Fletcher OBE hosted the ceremony whilst MCPS Chairman Peter Cornish presented the awards.  Collecting his Fran Nevrkla, Chairman of PPL said "It's difficult to tell you how much I value this award."
