Biography
Jack Pickett is a composer/producer from London who's music has appeared on all major terrestrial broadcasters, and last year was nominated for a BAFTA for his work on the short film "Tongue of the Hidden" in association with Channel 4 and Animate TV. Most recently you may have heard his music on the primetime BBC1 cookery program Masterchef - The Professionals. He has over 50 tracks placed across the Universal and Carlin libraries and recently became a professional member of BASCA.
Jack has released 7 albums under various pseudonyms and was a pioneer in the developing digital field using mp3.com to distribute his music as far back as 1999 (under the moniker The Legendary Danny K), and more recently Psychogenic. In December 2009 Jack released Reflections - a collection of his works for orchestra and chamber ensemble that has been winning critical acclaim all over the world - and looks to have bridged the gap between successful commercial classical music and the academia. Released independently through the British Academy label Academy Recordings it has won praise from many quarters including songwriting legend Albert Hammond who said:
I love what he does - there is magic there - its different which is great. Its what I want to listen to in the morning or when I feel I need a shrink! His music and arrangements make me feel like the world is a beautiful place to live in.
