Biography

Andrew is one of Britain's most respected creative musical directors, working in different professional and community settings and across many different musical styles. He has long experience of creating and devising music and music theatre projects for young people and the wider community.

He is currently an associate composer with the French music/installation company, Mecanique Vivante, developing new repertoire for a unique set of wi-fi server-controlled musical sirens.

Music commissions often involve new and unusual combinations, bringing together styles and musicians from many different sources.

He is also active in the theatre, having studied with Stephen Sondheim. His musicals have been supported and endorsed by Cameron Mackintosh.

In 2002 he established the unique London Philharmonic Open Ear Orchestra which only performs music written by its members. To date it has premiered over 40 new works including contemporary classical and jazz big band scores, rock concertos and pop ballads. It is open to enthusiastic creative musicians from any background.
