Biography

Flaxton is: Lyricist Jacqueline Doherty aka Claudia Flaxton, a published Poet, with the International Society of Poets. Photographer, Diploma 04.

After a number of years writing screenplays and poetry for fun, I decided to take my poems and turn them into songs. I set to work with artists that could add melody to my words. My first outing as a lyricist came through my friendship with singer/songwriter Heidi Jo Hines. Together we made 3 great songs: The Courage to Love, Think of Me and Calling Out (Song for Darfur). The Courage to Love - melody on verses: Jake Marwa (14yrs), chorus music & performance: Heidi Jo Hines. 

After my collaboration with Heidi, I began to work with other artists. I mostly work now with Nick Schinder from the band 'The Child'.

I'm also very keen to encourage the work and ideas of young aspiring guitarists/composers; this is demonstrated with the songs Courage to Love and Signs of Life. I encouraged the musical ideas of my son Jake Marwa (15yrs). We work together on developing ideas for songs. Last year we developed The Courage to Love, Signs of Life from his original composition ideas. We are working on more songs to be recorded early this year.

I'm currently working with Producer Ike Nossel & Singer/songwriter Owen Donovan.
