Biography
Adam Saunders studied at the Royal Academy of Music and London University, winning several prizes for composition. Since leaving, he has established a career composing music for the concert hall and for worldwide film, television and other media. In addition to a period as composer-in-residence with Sinfonia Viva, Adam has had his works performed and recorded by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Halle Orchestra, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, English Chamber Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra, London Mozart Players, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Royal Ballet Sinfonia, City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus, Ondense Symphony Orchestra, RTE Concert Orchestra, Orchestra of the Renaissance, Delme Quartet and the Brighton Festival Chorus, amongst others.
Productions to use Adam's music include Bride Wars (feature film), 17 Again (feature Film), the Sopranos, CSI:NY, Desperate Houswives, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Smallville (Superman the Early Years), Angel, Good Morning America, ITN News, American Idol, Beverley Hills 90210, Top Gear, Pokemon, Digimon, amongst hundreds of others.
As orchestrator/arranger, Adam has worked for Disney and for various film music album projects including music from Star Wars Episode II (Attack of the Clones), Batman Begins and Harry Potter, as well as for concerts worldwide.
As well as his work as a composer, arranger and conductor, Adam performs regularly as a jazz pianist with his own group, and as a pianist has performed at venues including Wembley Arena and the Royal Albert Hall. He was appointed an Honorary Associate of the Royal Academy of Music in 2000.
