The Ivors

The Ivor Novello Awards celebrate, honour and reward excellence in songwriting and composing.  They are presented by BASCA in association with PRS for Music and judged by the writing community.

The Ivors reward excellence in works released in the UK within the awards year and the call for entries opens each December and closes the first week in February. The awards also honour individuals with awards recognising their contribution to British Music.  These awards are in the gift of BASCA's Ivor Novello Awards Committee.

The Gold Badge Awards

The Gold Badge Awards celebrate the achievements of a group of men and women who have made an outstanding contribution to Britain’s music industry.  Presented by BASCA in association with PRS for Music they have been held for over 36 years.

They are an opportunity for BASCA to recognise colleagues who have worked in support of songwriters and composers.

The British Composer Awards

The British Composer Awards recognise contemporary classical compositions which have recieved a UK premiere within the awards year.  They have achieved widespread recognition and respect from contemporary classical composers. With 13 categories across a wide spectrum of disciplines they truly reflect the diversity of new classical music being premiered and performed around the country today.

Past recipients include Jonathan Harvey, Michael Finnissy, Tarik O’Regan, Julian Anderson, Anthony Payne, Harrison Birtwistle, Errollyn Wallen, James Dillon, Judith Bingham, Martin Kiszko, Simon Holt, Judith Weir, Adam Gorb and Luke Bedford.

Presented by BASCA and sponsored by PRS for Music, the awards are in association with BBC Radio 3.
